Mole Control

There are three species of moles that may cause damage to your yard (Eastern Mole, Hairy-tailed Mole, and Star-nosed Mole). Moles only weigh 3-6 ounces but spend most of their time foraging for food. They are insectivores (eat insects) and they may control some insect outbreaks such as grubs. However, mole activity can also cause considerable damage to lawns, parks, and golf courses.

PEORIA PEST CONTROL uses two methods to control moles. One is through the use of a restricted-use pesticide that is a fumigant. The fumigant is placed in the primary “run” and quickly spreads throughout the tunnel and before moles can escape. The fumigant is very affective when ground temperatures are above 45 degrees. However, this method cannot be used in a “run” that is immediately next to a residential structure.

The second method of control incorporates the use of Talpirid a bait impregnated “worm” (see product details at: www.talpirid.com ). Talpirid is the same size, shape and feels like the earthworms that are an important part of the mole’s diet.

Each method of mole control is guaranteed for effectiveness.
